Imagine a visit to your doctor:

  • that wasn’t rushed

  • where all your questions were answered

  • who was able to bridge modern medicine, nutraceuticals, herbalism and other alternative forms of medicine

  • where she understood the importance of nutrition, and could explain it to you

THIS IS DPC.

This is Allegheny Integrative Medicine.

DPC stands for Direct Primary Care.  It means exactly what it says – it is a direct relationship between a physician and patient without anyone in between them.  This relationship has a variety of benefits and reestablishes the wholesome, therapeutic environment being lost in today’s HMO and Universal healthcare settings.  Yes!  Even European countries are dissatisfied with their “free” healthcare and are seeking alternatives, like DPCs.

Healthcare is evolving from reactive treatments to personalized, preventive care—and Direct Primary Care (DPC) practices are leading the way. With longer visits, a focus on lifestyle, wellness, and chronic disease prevention, modern practices are building stronger relationships and delivering better outcomes.

Mainstream (i.e. insurance-driven) care models rush through appointments and focus on treating illness after it appears. But today’s patients want what patients have always wanted: time to talk, personalized guidance, and long-term health strategies that include preventive screenings, nutrition counseling, and proactive chronic care.

At AIM, you choose your time. Your first appointment is 2 hours. Routine follow-up visits are 1 hour. Quick Visits are 15-30 minutes.

How does DPC work?

DPC practices typically do not engage with insurance companies for their services. The patient pays a one-time onboarding fee and then a small monthly fee thereafter directly to their physician. The monthly fee covers reasonably unlimited direct communication and hourly office visits (see fee schedule).

That’s it.

If you have insurance, you will be able to use it outside of your DPC clinic as you always have. DPC doctors can prescribe, order tests and imaging studies and refer to specialists under your insurance just like any HMO facility does.

Allegheny Integrative Medicine, LLC (AIM) is not only general practice, but offers integrative approach to medical care. Integrative medicine can mean a lot of things. At AIM, Dr. Hare practices a combination of modern Western medicine with Functional medicine and Ayurvedic knowledge. Your health is approached in a whole-body manner. There is no problem that exists in isolation. In the DPC model, there is space and time to address this universal truth.
